Problems arise when fires are started in the trash cans. You do not know if there is live ammo (yeah, dumb idea, but it's been there!) discarded in the cans, and even more important the fires leave long-lived hot coals and sparks that can start a range fire after you have left the range.
Besides, the range snakes we hire to control rodents will often take refuge in the bottoms of the cans to take a quiet snooze during the day. Snakes find fire and smoke totally uncomfortable and often can't quickly locate the hole they used to crawl into the barrel, so they try to climb up the side of the barrel and it scortches their skin and sensitive nostrils and tongue and burns their eyes. Now, think carefully; you don't want to be antagonizing the snake-gods unnecessarily do you?
Rangemaster Assistants will empty the cans as needed. If they are full and need emptying, please phone the rangemaster. But please, members, do not start fires in the trash barrels. |
